Cristina Balalau Romanian Interpreter and Translator Manchester

Romanian Interpreter/Translator

About Me

I have been interested in languages since childhood when I discovered that people occasionally spoke a different language and I was irreversibly entranced by the playfulness of this. I did not have to confine myself to one language or one culture.

At the age of eight I started to learn French, then English found me a year later. It was love at first sight. I continued on to study English for the Baccalaureate, then read English and Spanish at the University of Bucharest, graduating with a BA Honours degree in 1998.

Following graduation, I left for England to live the language I had chosen to speak. Since then, I have made languages my work, mostly as an interpreter and translator, translating bi-directionally in Romanian, French and English but also as an English teacher.
